Advertising Notes: Lucozade
NOTES:
- Gareth Bale; Welsh national player he plays up front and also plays for Real Madrid.
- 2015 Advert
- He used to play for Tottenham / Spurs
- The colour scheme matches the packaging of the product
- During 2015 he was the most expensive player at the time, he won the 2015-16 title and was elected the UEFA Squad of the Season.
- Slogan has double meaning; you're superior you're in a different league.
- Player facts in top right corner, adds credibility.
- ''Scientifically Proven'' feels more trustworthy, gives credibility, controversy about energy drinks.
- Gareth Bale - Features are emphasised, possibly photoshopped, strong jawline looks physically fit. Mid-Close up. Direct address, he's a well known sportsman so this could be more important than us seeing his body, he's well groomed. Mise-En-Scene = sports clothing.
- Logo appears on packaging and then on the bottom left to reinforce branding.
- Lighter colour around him to show he's a celebrity, framing gives space.
- Paralanguage - read from left to right top to bottom, so first thing we notice is that he's ''in a different league''
- They don't write his name down we're meant to instantly recognise him.
REPRESENTATION:
- Nation = Welsh National, Real Madrid links to slogan and his skills and his status ''in a different league''
- Has quite a clean reputation, doesn't get in to trouble all the time, no controversy around him.
- Bale includes that mythical masculinity, he's strong, he includes eye contact, very confident.
- Role model, archetype, typical sports star, all round, encompases messages and values.
- Lucozade is trust worthy and high status.

LUCOZADE AS A BRAND
- Iconic shape of the bottle
- Colour changed a bit Orange & Blue now
- A range of different products
- The slogan "Lucozade aids recovery" was replaced by "Lucozade replaces lost energy". The glass bottle was replaced by a plastic one.
CURRENT ADVERT:
- Advertising Slogans changed
- Well established been around for a while, just reinforces brand messages don't need to show the product.
- Inspiration for disabled people and able bodied peoples, showing you can achieve anything you like if you do work at it.
